摘要: This paper describes progress towards the development of a large‐capacity, single‐stage, Stirling‐type, pulse‐tube refrigerator (PTR) for high temperature superconducting power applications. Specifically, design and fabrication an experimental PTR is described followed by series modifications which have focused on optimization flow transition components hot cold ends pulse‐tube. Computational fluid dynamic models are been used to guide modifications. The impact each modification cooler performance discussed. instrumented with piston displacement sensors, high‐frequency pressure thermocouples along regenerator wall, within heat exchanger gas volume, wall.
