摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the response of cultured human normal glial cells to growth factors. Normal surface-attached animal in culture divide at maximal rate only as long free space is available. When whole vessel surface covered by cells, proliferation decreases, and a stationary phase appears terminal cell density. In this study, an assay system for factors was developed. Putative are added serum-free cultures, incorporation tritiated thymidine determined. The finding cell-stimulating polypeptide somatomedin B reported. Fibroblast factor (FGF) found be potent promoter. Human osteosarcoma culture, release active assay. nondialyzable, trypsin sensitive, fairly heat stable. its possible role deficient control cells. major part growth-promoting activity serum platelet dependent. Serum prepared from platelet-poor plasma contained less than platelet-rich plasma.
