摘要: Industrial wastewater is a potential source of water pollution and common threat to aquatic life. Chemical analysis quantifies the concentrations toxic substances but does not reflect their effects on biota. Therefore, bioassessment very necessary for monitoring wastewaters quality. In present study samples from Gadoon Amazai Estate (GAIE), Pakistan, were evaluated ecotoxicological using automatic biotest ECOTOX Pulse Amplitude Modulated (PAM) fluorometer. Various physiological parameters freshwater flagellate Euglena gracilis like motility, swimming velocity, cell shape, gravitactic orientation photosynthetic efficiency used as end points. addition, analyzed some physicochemical properties. With exceptions, most physicochemicalproperties thetested sampleswerewithinthe acceptablerange national environmental quality standards municipal industrial effluents (NEQS). However, all adversely affected different in gracilis. This led conclusion that wastewater, even at low concentrations, affect physiology Gravitactic shape sensitive toxicity can be reliable points bioassessment.
