摘要: BackgroundNon-anastomotic biliary strictures (NAS) after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) have a negative influence on graft survival. Expert opinion suggests effect of NAS other important aspects post-transplant care, although its impact is largely unknown as data are scarce. MethodsThis retrospective single center study analyzed healthcare consumption, use ionizing radiation, infectious complications and development highly resistant microorganisms (HRMO) in adult patients with NAS. A comparison matched control group was made. ResultsForty-three recipients 43 controls were included. Hospital admissions higher Most common reason for admission bacterial cholangitis (BC), 70% the having at least one episode compared to 9% group. In NAS, 67% received ERCP 21% (p = 0.001). This resulted larger yearly radiation dose Frequency intravenous antibiotic therapy 0.001) consistently resulting number cultures found HRMO 0.012). ConclusionNAS OLT increasing readmission rates, interventional procedures, exposure antibiotics, HRMO.
