摘要: Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance Zhiqiao–Houpu herb-pair (ZQHPHP), composed of Fructus Aurantii (Zhiqiao [ZQ] in Chinese) and Magnolia officinalis (Houpu [HP] Chinese), is a traditional herbal formula that has been extensively used for treating gastrointestinal motor dysfunction. The aim the study was to evaluate effect possible mechanism ZQHPHP on gastric emptying (GE) antral smooth muscle contractility (GASMC). Materials methods This includes four parts: (a) ZQHPHP's GE; (b) (GASMC); (c) comparing effects ZQHPHP, ZQ HP GASMC; (d) antagonists or agonists ZQHPHP-induced GASMC. A test meal Evans blue adopted estimate GE rats. polygraph measure GASMC Results vivo experiments demonstrated that, at doses 10 mg/kg bw 20 mg/kg bw, could promote GE. While, higher dose 30 mg/kg bw, delayed From vitro we found (3–10 μg/ml) concentration-dependently increased mean amplitude contractions circular strip compared untreated controls. concentration 30 μg/ml, prohibited Besides, atropine blocked stimulatory norepinephrine partly GASMC, whereas isoproterenol showed no effect. experiment, also together can synergistically increase gut motor. Conclusions experiment indicated induce bidirectional regulation motility. certain dosage. Lower dosage increases motility, while produces inhibition. In addition, improvement motility by predominantly involved with muscarinic receptors secondarily alpha-receptors.
