摘要: Aims: To compare intravenous urography (IVU) and magnetic resonance (MRU) in the preoperative evaluation of pelvi-ureteric junction obstruction (PUJO) children. Materials Methods: A total 35 children up to 10 years age whom unilateral or bilateral PUJO were suspected on ultrasonography enrolled this prospective study. All underwent IVU MRU, findings compared. Results: Of 70 kidneys evaluated, 14 (20%) not visualized because nonexcretion contrast, whereas all (100%) MRU. On IVU, nephrogram was 66 (94.2%) kidneys, MRU showed prompt homogeneous 68 (97.1%) kidneys. No evidence seen 31 (44.2%) both 26 (37.1%) it 38 (54.2%) detected two duplex systems that missed IVU. focal renal lesion incidental extra abnormalities which Conclusion: is better than especially case poorly functioning are also provides anatomic details ureter vessels with parenchyma. It has an additional advantage detecting abnormalities, if present.
