摘要: Since the introduction of hormonal contraceptives in 1960s, there have been a variety both health benefits and safety concerns attributed to their use. In most instances, noncontraceptive oral (OCs) outweigh potential cardiovascular risks. fact, probability patient experiencing event while taking low-dose OC is very low. However, smoking, hypertension, obesity, diabetes are risk factors that must be taken into account when prescribing OCs. The neoplastic effects extensively studied, recent meta-analyses indicate reduction endometrial ovarian cancer, possible small increase for breast cervical an increased liver cancer.
