摘要: This book collects salient observational data, derived predominantly from human studies, regarding the mechanism(s) of rejection in various pathologic conditions; premise is that immune rejection, better defined as “immune-mediated, tissue-specific destruction” (TSD) (Wang et al. 2008), comprises a broad range phenomena ranging tumor regression, to clearance pathogen through destruction infected cells, autoimmunity, allograft by host and vs. graft reactions. Like different hands can turn on or off switch, distinct mechanisms trigger TSD, however, convergent pathway ultimately observed when TSD occurs consisting dramatic switch chronic acute inflammation (Mantovani 2008).
