摘要: Pain has forever troubled humankind. Elucidation of nociceptive mechanisms and pathways, appreciation their diversity adaptability, have been essential to understanding pain. Anesthesiologists furthered such treatment, advanced the pain as a public health issue. During twentieth century, concepts post-injury sensitization hyperalgesia were developed, role humoral mediators recognized. The 1950s saw emergence anesthesia departments, facilitating research into acute chronic by specialists whose daily task originated with elimination during operations.
