摘要: Psychologists and other therapists are seeing an increasingly large number of bilingual individuals. Such clients a special challenge when there has been some type brain injury or disease because the seemingly unpredictable effect such disorders may have on language skills, impacting either both client's languages interfering with internal speech that plays role in higher cognitive functions as insight awareness. While many clinical assumptions about which will show least impairment recover best, suppositions based lore often contradictory. A review literature finds outcome be influenced by factors cerebral representation secondary language, method acquisition, age premorbid proficiency, style learning individual. Neuropsychological concepts can explain these findings examined, along their implications for therapy, rehabilitation.
