摘要: This case study concerns an 18-year-old bilingual girl who suffered a radiation lesion in the left (dominant) thalamic and temporal region when she was 4 years old. Language memory assessment revealed deficits auditory short-term memory, word comprehension, nonword repetition, syntactic processing, fluency, confrontation naming tasks. Both languages (English Dutch) were found to be affected similar manner, despite fact that one language (English) acquired before other (Dutch) after period of onset. Most appear related verbal (short-term) dysfunction. Several hypotheses subcortical involvement processes are discussed with reference existing theories this area.
