摘要: A 3-year-old, right-handed girl developed a conduction-type aphasia following second generalized seizure in the setting of developing abscess involving left subcortical and cortical angular gyrus arcuate fasciculus, posterior corpus callosum. The language disorder was fluent, characterized by age appropriate mean length utterance syntax, but with markedly reduced spontaneity output, rapid rate speech mild dysarthria. Comprehension relatively, not completely spared. Naming, repetition, reading (letters) were initially impaired. Improvements naming repetition associated both literal semantic paraphasias. Writing skills form drawing spared, apraxia to verbal command imitation present. Despite her young age, this child's fluent conduction lesion localization adult-like. Multimodal memory difficulties appeared underlie what is best described as aphasia.
