The use new models cessation that can help pregnant smokers study its impact in Public Maternities constitute a public health priority. Methods A pre-test–post-test control group design was conducted evaluate effectiveness brief counseling behavioral among maternity hospital. At first visit, 33 patients were assigned consecutively experimental (E) where they received 24 (C) usual care. Smoking status reported by self-report confirmed expired air carbon monoxide at visit 2 months follow-up. Results Using intention treat analysis, tobacco abstinence 33.3% compared 8.3% care ( P = 0.02) (OR 5.5). Conclusions Counseling interventions seem be promising approaches women stop during pregnancy.
