摘要: Human-carnivore conflict is the major issue for carnivore conservation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Due to habitat degradation of wildlife, natural prey species declined resulting into t he increased depredation livestock, which turn causes human-carnivore conflicts. This paper presents results study relationship Tehsil Dhirkot, Kashmir, Pakistan during 2009 -2010. Study was aimed explore extent (injuries deaths) livestock human beings by different species, estimation economic loss local villagers, perceptions locals retaliatory killings carnivores last three years. A sum total 150 affectees were interviewed using structured questionnaires discussions made with community 40 surveys conducted 20 villages eight union councils area. Three main found be responsible killing injury. Common Leopard majority (70.8%) such killing; mainly goats (20%) donkeys (18%). Jackals about 80% poultry killin gs. These depredations lead a financial US$ 23529.41 2009-2010. Four persons also injured leopard attacks at Surang, Hill, Munhasa Sohawa. In response, four l eopards killed Ghaziabad, Narakot, Surang Rangla. Most (85%) people dislike predators 90% respondents recommended that should conserved zoos wildlife parks while 10% i n favor predator habitat. The revealed leopards along other widely involved has been heavily persecuted rural communities. threat large species. To improve both population livelihood prospects around area, management projects mitigation strategies initiated.
