摘要: Maize is an important crop, produced by nearly all households in Uganda. Yet, the yield of crop low, mainly blamed on low use improved technologies. In a bid to understand why farmers are reluctant adopt modern agricultural technologies, which hailed for enhancing productivity, this study assessed effect inputs maize and profit The analysis was based Uganda National Household Survey data 2005/06. A graphical used assess outcomes associated with seed fertiliser. Stochastic production functions were estimated profit. Graphical results indicated that producers who applied fertiliser obtained highest but lower gross margin while never margin. Regression higher expenditure traction per hectare had significant (p<0.05) positive yield. No however observed case production. Results indicate whereas expansion area cultivated significantly (p<0.01) negative yield, it most means increasing Education level access extension services key farmer characteristics found have influence yet no remarkable Notable members government agency, Agricultural Advisory Services organization, (NAADS) than not NAADS. These suggest NAADS other agencies involved promoting technologies uphill task proving hence persuading these only enhances also increases farm profits.
