摘要: Among the lepidopterous insects associated with soybeans in Brazil, velvetbean caterpillar, Anticarsia gemmatalis, is most important and widespread defoliator, seconded by species of Plusiinae, such as Pseudoplusia includens Rachiplusia nu, which are lesser importance but usually occur populations A. gemmatalis. Research a nuclear polyhedrosis virus gemmatalis (AgNPV) has led to wide-scale use pathogen at farmer level, estimated ca. 1,000,000 hectares annually. Most its production been carried out estate organizations cooperatives, present four private companies commercializing AgNPV biological pesticide. NPVs Plusiinae complex also being developed microbial insecticide, through cooperative effort between Brazilian, Argentinian, Uruguaian researchers. developments AgNPV, progress work baculoviruses other soybean discussed.
