摘要: Abstract Eight species of noctuid larvae were tested for susceptibility to a nuclear polyhedrosis virus the velvetbean caterpillar, Anticarsia gemmatalis. Velvetbean caterpillar highly susceptible crude preparations polyhedral inclusion bodies (PIBs; LD50 = 4.7 PIBs/larva), but purified polyhedra much less effective against these (LD50 319.7 PIBs/larva). Of seven other tested, only Heliothis virescens was as A. High dosages required kill zea, Trichoplusia ni, Pseudoplusia includens, and Spodoptera ornithogalli. Plathypena scabra frugiperda not susceptible.
