摘要: The multiple-embedded velvetbean caterpillar nucleopolyhedrosis virus (VBC-NPV) ofAnticarsia gemmatalis Hubner was shown to be infectious of a variety noctuid hosts. mortality data demonstrated the importance defining dosage used in host range analysis. Serial passage VBC-NPV through soybean looper,Pseudoplusia includens, done select for variants this NPV. After several passages insect virulence progeny remained unchanged indicating heterogeneity and not population. However, between 3rd 5th serial throughPseudoplusia latent NPV identical single-embedded previously associated fromA. gemmatalis activated. biological biochemical characteristics isolate it distinct from original VBC-NPV. A single activated throughA. resulted production viral having preparation throughP. includens properties with both isolate.
