摘要: Cholera remains an important public health concern in developing countries including Kenya where 11,769 cases and 274 deaths were reported 2009 according to the World Health Organization (WHO). This ecological study investigates impact of various climatic, environmental, demographic variables on spatial distribution cholera Kenya. District-level data was gathered from Kenya’s Division Disease Surveillance Response, Meteorological Department, National Bureau Statistics. The included entire population 1999 2009. Multivariate analyses showed that districts had increased risk outbreaks when a greater proportion lived more than five kilometers facility (RR: 1.025 per 1% increase; 95% CI: 1.010, 1.039), bordered body water 5.5; 2.472, 12.404), experienced rainfall October December 1.003 1 mm 1.001, 1.005), decreased April June 0.996 0.992, 0.999). There no detectable association between density, poverty, availability piped water, waste disposal methods, January March, or July September. Bordering large lack facilities nearby, changes significantly associated with
