摘要: Abstract This paper presents an alternative approach to the problem, based on “testing” real structure rather than trying model it. Experiments reinforced concrete (RC) beams, representative of bridge are described. The beams were loaded in cycles up failure whilst recording acoustic emissions (AE) generated. analysis AE signals was then undertaken a proposed new parameter, named “relaxation ratio”. quantifies energy recorded during unloading and loading phases cycle test it showed clear correlation with bending load RC beams. A change trend noted when reached approximately 45% ultimate load. results appeared be influenced by factors such as strength rate further work is needed extend full scale testing
