摘要: Abstract This review summarizes the biosynthesis, cell type-distribution and function of brain aromatase cytochrome P450 (P450aro) 5α-reductase enzymes. overview covers impact steroid products P450aro enzymes in establishing sexually dimorphic structures, specifically nucleus preoptic area (SDN) anteroventral periventricular (AVPV). Additionally, since metabolites are known to regulate calcium-binding protein, calbindin (CALB), CALB is reviewed relationship its potential role determining structures. Finally, recent reports indicate that phytoestrogens inhibit activities peripheral tissue sites, therefore, effects on briefly considered consuming a high vs. low phytoestrogen diet visual spatial memory male female rats presented.
