摘要: We engaged in cooperative research with fishers and stakeholders to characterize the fine-scale, spatio-temporal characteristics of spawning behavior an aggregating marine fish (Cynoscion othonopterus: Sciaenidae) coincident activities its commercial fishery Upper Gulf California. Approximately 1.5–1.8 million are harvested annually from aggregations C. othonopterus during 21–25 days fishing within area 1,149 km2 a biosphere reserve. Spawning synchronized on semi-lunar cycle, peaks both occurring 5 2 before new full moon intensity catch highest at grounds no-take Results this study demonstrate benefits combining GPS data loggers, fisheries data, biological surveys produce spatio-temporally explicit information relevant science management spatial planning reserves.
