摘要: Objective To determine the relationship between cognitive behavioural coaching, well-being of rural general practitioners (GPs), their intentions to leave and actual leaving practice. Design Quasi-experimental study utilising an intervention group GPs deidentified data for a baseline control consisting remaining population in South Australia. Setting Rural practice. Participants Rural Australia: (n = 69), (n = 205) (n = 312). Interventions A 9-hour coaching program. Main outcome measure(s) Rural doctor distress, intention practice retention rate GPs. Results GPs who underwent had lower distress scores (mean = 24.50; confidence interval, 21.71–27.29) than (mean = 28.63; 27.08–30.17). Before 81% considered practice, which reduced 40% after (χ2(2) = 16.31, P < .001). Over 3-year period, 94% remained compared with 80% (χ2(1) = 4.89, P = 0.027).
