摘要: Abstract The optical absorption and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra of 1% Nd 3+ doped fluorozirconate (ZBLAN) glass are reported. composition is 53 mol% ZrF 4 , 20 BaF 2 NaF, 3 AlF LaF 1 NdF . An analysis the intensity spectrum done in framework Judd-Ofelt theory. parameters Ω = 1.76(±0.22) × 10 −20 cm 3.08(±0.30) 6 3.67(± 0.32) This parameter set compared with those for other vitreous matrices. small value can be related to high ionicity (= low covalency) between neodymium cation fluoride anions and/or a relatively symmetry local surrounding ion. Correlation size modifier not possible because, glasses, lanthanide ions intermediate elements both out network positions. It emphasized that one should correlate too much physical properties only three phenomenological parameters. spectral features MCD described qualitatively. signals show strong temperature dependence. A negative -term found P → I 9 transition at room temperature. ratios C 0 D Faraday dipole strength
