摘要: Development of oral health status indexes poses a set theoretical and methodological challenges. Although the amount work done on is far less that general indexes, to date those developed share many same theorectical assumptions. For most part they have shared dominant biomedical paradigm underlying theory illness. These theories significantly influence both instruments measure methods measurement adopted. More recently alternative, holistic illness been proposed there has shift from focused provider patient move objective subjective measures health. Furthermore relationship between received insufficient attention. The paper examines illness, measurement, suggests other holistic, centered, paradigms, using qualitative methods, should also be considered in construction or indexes.
