Electrochromic coatings–applications and manufacturing issues

摘要: Abstract Electrochromic (EC) coatings, thin films that change their optical absorptance or reflectance as a function of injected ions (typically H + Li species), is an area research and development has received considerable attention from academia, industry government laboratories. OCLI been actively involved in the transmissive proton-based electrochromic devices for number commercial applications. In this paper, we will focus on two applications: architectural glazings eyewear. Each provides its own set challenges, ranging coating large glass to small curved plastic. We review benefits electrochromics those applications report technological manufacturing challenges involved. Furthermore, show OCLI’s recent advances producing low temperature all-sputtered EC devices. The latter necessary (1) sensitive substrates (2) transferring process into high volume in-line sputtering platform.
