The preparation of boron-doped silicon carbide powder by the carbothermal reduction of oxides derived from the hydrolyzed methyltriethoxysilane

摘要: Abstract A precursor prepared from a methyltriethoxysilane ((CH 3 )Si(OC 2 H 5 ) , MTES)-B(OC -polyacrylonitrile (PAN) composition was used for the synthesis of boron-doped SiC by carbothermal reduction. Initially, MTES hydrolyzed with HCl (MTES: O: = 1 : 0.01) h in sealed vessel. The number-average molecular weight measurement and NMR spectrum revealed that species solution were mainly oligometric. With addition B(OC no significant changes distribution Si containing detected. mixing PAN-dimethylsulfoxide led to homogeneous solution. After evaporation solvents subsequent heat treatment at 220° C, brown powder obtained. By 1600° C Ar, it converted powder.
