摘要: Background One of the most commonly used molecular test for malaria diagnosis is polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based amplification 18S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) gene. Published diagnostic assays based on gene include "gold standard" nested assay, semi-nested multiplex and one tube assay. To our knowledge, no has reported whether two methods are better at detecting mixed Plasmodium infections compared to assay using known quantities in experimentally cocktails.
