Cancer profile of Larkana, Pakistan (2000-2002).

摘要: This present study was conducted with the objective of providing cancer profile Larkana, fourth largest city Sindh, Province. The included two sets patients. first set incident cases, residents who reached Karachi for diagnosis or treatment. second consisted cases registered at Aga Khan University (AKU) Pathology collection points Larkana during 1st January 2000 to 31st December 2002. age-standardized rates (ASR) (all sites) were 134.2/100,000 in males and 110.3/100,000 females. most common malignancies lymphoma, oral cavity, prostate, liver, urinary bladder. Cancers females breast, skin thyroid. Tobacco-associated cancers accounted approximately 35.0% tumors 18.6% gender ratio 1.5, mean age all sites 45.5 years (95% CI 34.6; 56.4) 42.9 33.6; 52.2) is attempt determine incidence pattern should serve as a guideline estimation burden Pakistan control program country. data must be interpreted care, they are largely pathology-based 15-30% population-wise under-registration.
