摘要: Abstract The present paper reviews some of our current knowledge on fluoride-apatite interactions in bone tissue. Nearly all the dietary fluoride retained by body is found apatitic component hard tissue mineral. Fluoride's strong affinity for hydroxyl lattice sites apatite largely accounts this mineral seeking property. Studies done during past few decades have revealed that uptake accompanied numerous changes physical and chemical properties apatite. Such include altered rates formation dissolution, increased crystallinity, concomitant reduction crystal surface area, reduced solubility, magnesium, carbonate citrate levels. Additional studies synthetic model systems elucidated possible inorganic pathways which these can be affected fluoride. However, total effect vivo too complex to interpreted physicochemical terms alone. Biological factors appear play an equally important role, especially with respect crystallinity changes.
