Electron beam welding of Zr-based BMG/Ni joints: Effect of beam irradiation position on mechanical and microstructural properties

摘要: Abstract The electron beam welding of 3 mm thick Zr41Be23Ti14Cu12Ni10 bulk metallic glass (BMG) plate to Ni metal was investigated. BMG welded with an acceleration voltage 60 kV, a current 13.5 mA, speed 45 mm/s and dw = 0.2 mm. flexural strength the joint (415 MPa) higher than yield (345 MPa). irradiation position had strong influence on properties. When too far from crystalline metal, no joining achieved, when close it led crystallization in weld.
