摘要: Objective To investigate the age-long claim by locales that food thickener, M. urens seed, has antispermatogenic, hence, antifertility effects in man. Methods Eight-week old male Albino rats were used as mammalian model for this study. They assigned to four groups of 6 each and treatment with ethanol extract was a period 14 d. The regimes 70 mg/kg, 140 210 mg/kg 0 BW A, B, C D, respectively. Extracts prepared Soxhlet extraction using 80% extracting solvent. stock solution dissolving 1 g paste 10 ml corn oil (vehicle) make up 100 mg/ml concentration. At end treatment, sperm from distal caudal epididymis collected analyzed count, motility morphology. Results Significant reduction observed count (P Conclusion anti-spermatogenic on rat may lead fertility.
