摘要: The present study was undertaken to evaluate the antifertility activity of active principle, i.e. lupeol acetate, isolated from benzene extract Alstonia scholaris in male albino rats. treatment with acetate at dose level 10 mg/rat/day did not cause any significant change body weights, but reduction weight reproductive organs, testes, epididymides, seminal vesicle and ventral prostate, observed. Testicular sperm count, epididymal count motility were found significantly declined when compared controls, which resulted fertility by 100%. Arrest spermatogenesis noted various stages production primary spermatocytes (preleptotene pachytene), secondary step-19 spermatids decreased 52.36, 54.91, 55.67 69.65%, respectively. seminiferous tubules appeared reduced size 24.62%. Cross-sectional surface area Sertoli cells as well their counts be depleted. Leydig cell nuclear number mature 27.65 35.47%. Biochemical parameters tissues protein, sialic acid, glycogen cholesterol content testes vesicular fructose also showed reduction.
