摘要: The genetic counseling profession is expanding globally, and many countries, such as South Korea, are in the early stages of developing programs to prepare healthcare professionals specifically trained counselors. However, little research has investigated concerns Korean patients family members that have conditions. present study assessed their by accessing analyzing messages posted websites devoted Eighteen were accessed—1 website general conditions, 17 concern specific A sample 700 was translated into English analyzed using grounded theory analysis. Three major themes 30 categories extracted. are: 1) Medical Concerns (e.g., clinical symptoms, diagnosis, prognosis, recurrence risk, prevention, inheritance); 2) Psychosocial emotions, social stigma, support); 3) Management therapy alternative treatments, education, financial support, nutrition, medical facilities, folk remedies). findings provide insight types information services might benefit individuals members.
