摘要: Objective. To validate the Hamilton Depression (17) and Montgommery Asberg Scales as research instruments in older depressed community residents. Design. External validation against GMS/AGECAT case level recruitment of residents for an antidepressant trial. Analyses. Receiver operator curves were generated each rating scale, using external criterion. The sensitivity, specificity, positive negative predictive values both examined whole sample age gender subgroups. MADRS HAM-D cut-off scores differentiating cases from subcases identified. Results. score 16 21 identified sub-case. Diagnostic accuracy was good, reflecting good sensitivity specificity across genders sub-age groups. Conclusions. Both scales performed well this population. These provide researchers with externally validated clinically relevant designing trials management residents. Copyright © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
