摘要: Objective: Because the detection of primary tumour is importance to optimize patient’s management and allows a targeted therapy, performance hybrid positron emission tomography–computed tomography (PET/CT) using fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) in tumors unrecognized metastases with cervical lymph node were evaluated retrospective study. Material Methods: Twenty patients unknown underwent staging FDG-PET/CT. All head neck examinations, computed (CT), and/or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), panendoscopies, biopsies mucosal sites. The diagnostic accuracy FDG-PET/CT detecting was compared that histopathology clinical follow-up. ability detect distant also tested. Results: PET/CT positive an increased FDG uptake suggesting potential site 45% (9/20). findings true 7, negative 10, false 2, 1 patients, resulting sensitivity 87%, specificity 83%, 85%, predictive value 77% 90%. Also, showed seven patients. Conclusion: can be successfully used for identification from cancer. Conflict interest:None declared.
