摘要: Abstract Objective To study the effectiveness of botulinum toxin injections, via a subconjunctival approach, in management upper eyelid retraction associated with thyroid eye disease. Design Prospective, noncomparative, interventional case series. Participants Eleven patients scleral exposure disease who declined conservative or conventional surgical management. Intervention One more treatments injections into space at superior margin tarsal plate, conjunctival approach. Main outcome measures Upper position relation to limbus, patient satisfaction, and complications. Results All experienced some improvement amount lid after injections. The lowering varied between lasted 1 40 months. A acceptable was obtained 10 patients. Four had ptosis lasting from 3 weeks, three transient diplopia day weeks. Conclusions This method injection provides an effective treatment for that is easy administer well tolerated by few side effects.
