Recent trends in biodiesel production

摘要: This article fully discusses the recent trends in production of one most attractive types biofuels, i.e., biodiesel.with a focus on existing obstacles for its large scale production. Moreover, innovations/improvements under three categories upstream, mainstream, and downstream processes are also presented. Upstream strategies mainly focused seeking more sustainable oil feedstocks and/or enhancing quality waste-oriented ones. The mainstream section highlights numerous attempts made to enhance agitation efficiency including chemical mechanical strategies. Finally, innovative basically dealing with 1) separation biodiesel glycerin, 2) purification 3) improving characteristics produced fuel, comprehensively reviewed.
