摘要: Abstract The variation of dielectric constant with pressure two diamonds has been measured. If an atomic polarizability α is calculated from the Clausius–Mossotti equation, it found that V/α(∂α/∂V) T value 1·2, which conforms closely to its for silicon and germanium. Some results other workers on photoelastic properties diamond are also in conformity present results. There some uncertainty, however, as elastic constants seems possible both these may depend significantly impurity content stones.
