摘要: Abstract Obesity is known as weight gaining programme which leads to increase in body mass index (BMI), for significant risk factors chronic diseases. The prevalence of obesity has been rising South Asian countries, specifically Pakistan. Numerous studies have shown the association with metabolic diseases (ex; obesity) single nucleotide polymorphisms. present study designed investigate between C677T polymorphism methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene Pakistan population. In this case-control study, we enrolled 200 obese students and non-obese or control based on BMI. Genomic DNA was isolated 400 blood samples PCR performed MTHFR analyse frequency. Later restriction enzyme length analysis carried out undigested products. Genotyping frequencies were compared non-obesity students. Genotype, allele various genetic model inheritances calculated documented (p   0.05). concludes genetically associated risks However, relation Anova showed negative polymorphism.
