摘要: Substantial correlative evidence links the synchronized, oscillatory patterns of neural activity that emerge in Parkinson's disease (PD) beta (β) frequency range (13-30 Hz) with bradykinesia PD. However, conflicting exists, and whether these changes are causal motor symptoms PD remains unclear. We tested hypothesis synchronized β oscillations bradykinesia/akinesia. designed stimulation mimicked temporal characteristics single unit bursting seen animals humans. applied β-patterned along continuous low-frequency high-frequency controls to subthalamic nucleus (STN) intact 6-OHDA-lesioned female Long-Evans Sprague-Dawley rats. β-Patterned paradigms were superior at induction power downstream substantia nigra reticulata (SNr) neurons ipsilateral cortex. we did not detect deleterious effects on performance across a wide battery validated behavioral tasks. Our results suggest (BFOs) may be sufficient for generation bradykinesia/akinesia
