摘要: Efforts are under way to reduce diesel engine emissions (DEE) and their content of carcinogenic mutagenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). Previously, we observed reduced PAH DEE mutagenicity caused by reformulated or newly developed fuels. The use rapeseed oil as fuel is growing in German transportation businesses agriculture. We now compared the effects from (RSO), methyl ester (RME, biodiesel), natural gas-derived synthetic (gas-to-liquid, GTL), a reference petrodiesel (DF) generated heavy-duty truck using European Stationary Cycle. Mutagenicity particle extracts condensates was tested Salmonella typhimurium mammalian microsome assay with strains TA98 TA100. RSO increased factors 9.7 up 17 strain 5.4 6.4 TA100 DF. three times stronger than fuel. RME had moderate but significantly higher response assays metabolic activation without activation. GTL samples did not differ Regulated (hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter) remained below limits except for an increase NOx exhaust 15% biofuels.
