摘要: The effect of serum glucose alterations on selected verbal skills was examined in a group diabetic men between 18 and 35 yr age. An artificial insulin infusion system used to set maintain concentrations during testing at each three levels: hypoglycemia (55 mg/dl), euglycemia (110 hyperglycemia (300 mg/dl). Subjects were as their own controls, with performance serving the comparison standard. A double-blind crossover design employed described Holmes et al. (see ref. 14). Results showed significantly disrupted naming or labeling hypoglycemia, trend toward poorer hyperglycemia. During rate responding slowed from 6% 18%, compared euglycemic performance, but accuracy not impaired. In contrast, word recognition affected by deviations glucose. These effects correlated duration disease except for one five tests administered. This exception, most difficult task, less notable than general finding no relation (from 6 mo 17.5 yr) test performance. Thus, addition considering long-term consequences blood alterations, clinicians patients may wish consider acute neuropsychological euglycemia.
