摘要: Abstract Patients with phenylketonuria (PKU) have a poor LC-PUFA status and require supplementation. The objective of this study was to evaluate the PKU patients supplemented fish oil or fatty acid supplement KeyOmega. Plasma erythrocyte docosahexaenoic (DHA) arachidonic (AA) levels were determined in 54 (1–18.5 years age) confirmed PKU. influence supplementation versus KeyOmega, powdered blend DHA AA, on investigated compared samples obtained from unsupplemented patients. Differential effects observed upon suppletion Whereas increased level DHA, AA concentration did not increase normal values these In contrast, both reached reference conclusion: results indicate that KeyOmega offers additional benefit over since are normalized
