摘要: Traces of metal are required for fundamental biochemical processes, such as photosynthesis and respiration. Cyanobacteria homeostasis acquires an important role because the photosynthetic machinery imposes a high demand metals, making them limiting factor cyanobacteria, especially in open oceans. On other hand, last two centuries, concentrations marine environments lake sediments have increased result several industrial activities. In all cases, cells to tightly regulate uptake maintain their intracellular below toxic levels. Mechanisms obtain under conditions protect from excess metals present cyanobacteria. Understanding cyanobacteria proteins involved will help evaluate use these microorganisms bioremediation. Furthermore, it also understand how availability impacts primary production this review, we focus on copper, nickel, cobalt arsenic (a metalloid) metabolism, which has been mainly analyzed model cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803.
