Eicosanoid Regulation of Macrophage In Vitro Cytostatic Function Towards Tumour Cells

摘要: Macrophage functions are, at least in part, controlled by metabolites of the cyclo-oxygenase and 5-lipoxygenase pathways arachidonic acid. For example macrophage lysosomal enzyme secretion is stimulated product leukotriene (LT)C4 inhibited cyclo-oxagenase metabolic Prostaglandin (PG)E2. Further, stimulatory action LTC4 enhanced inhibitors (Schenkelaars anf Bonta 1986). Also discharge Polypeptide interleukin-1 (IL-1) regulated eicosanoids. Inhibition biosynthesis PGE2 exposure to LTB4 or LTD4 can augment IL-1 production monocytes (Rola-Pleszczynski Lemaire 1985). Thus it appears that macrophages are leukotrienes PGE2. In order test application this concept other than secretory functions, we investigated influence eicosanoid on cytostatic activity towards a tumour cell line.
