Measuring spatial waves of repolarization in canine ventricles using high-resolution epicardial mapping*

摘要: Abstract The importance of the role ventricular repolarization in arrhythmogenesis and defibrillation prompted exploration new methods for observing measuring repolarization. Specifically, authors' goal was to establish independent procedures assessing activation-recovery intervals. Canine epicardial electrograms from high-resolution arrays (2-mm spacing, 25 × 21 electrodes) were recorded during pacing a variety single or simultaneously paced locations canine hearts. For each activation sequence, times measured using timing intrinsic QRS T wave deflections (activation-recovery interval method) peak magnitude spatial derivatives (gradient method). Both should, theoretically, provide estimates local times, which reflect action potential upstrokes downstrokes. Scattergrams comparing recovery two showed high correlation, slopes close 1.0, intercepts near origin. most sequences, observation gradient distributions as dynamic, three-dimensional perspective displays, revealed well-defined, rapidly propagating wave, superimposed on slowly varying, high-amplitude distribution occurring wave. These data suggest that temporal are consistent with theoretical predictions They also utility combining approaches improving reliability measurements.
