摘要: Overexploitation of shallow aquifers on the Syrian coast, north Latakia (Damsarkho) for irrigation and tourism has caused an intrusion seawater. The seawater into this aquifer been presented by a three-dimensional finite element model using FEFLOW numerical code. This conceptual is based field laboratory data collected during period 1966–2003. Meteoric infiltration flows from adjoining carbonate recharge aquifer; natural outflow occurs through diffuse flow sea; artificial intensive extraction groundwater wells. Water exchanges in occur naturally (leakage) artificially (multi-screened wells). was calibrated transient conditions. helped establish that essentially due to withdrawals near coast season it mainly Damsarkho plain. effects hypothetical exploitation were assessed terms salt budget.
