摘要: A series of activated palygorskite clay by HCl with different concentrations was prepared and applied as adsorbents for removal Cu(II) from aqueous solutions. The effects contact time, adsorbent dosages pHs suspension on the adsorption capacities were investigated. results showed that capacity palygorskites increased increasing concentration maximum 32.24 mg/g is obtained at 12 mol/L concentration. variations in IR spectra pH solution after confirmed numerous amount silanol groups (Si-OH) originated acid treatment mainly responsible onto acid-activated palygorskite. Kinetic studies indicated mechanisms Cu(II)/acid-activated system followed pseudo-second-order kinetic model a relatively small contribution film diffusion. Equilibrium data fitted well Freundlich isotherm compared to Langmuir model, indicating takes place heterogeneous surfaces Adsorption-desorption presented has lower desorption efficiencies using Cu(CH3COO)2 than other inorganic copper salts, such CuSO4, Cu(NO3)2, CuCl2.
