摘要: Abstract The aim of the present study was to test GABAergic nature inhibitory projection from substantia nigra, pars reticulata (SNr) superior colliculus (SC) in rat, through use extracellular recordings and microiontophoresis. effect SN stimulation on spontaneous or glutamate-evoked firing SC units analyzed. Among 28 cells inhibited by SNr stimulation, 27 decreased their rate following iontophoretic application either GABA glycine. administration bicuculline SNr-evoked inhibition studied 14 these GABA- glycine-sensitive neurons. Bicuculline reversibly blocked nigral 12 neurons, with current which did not affect glycine depression. These results are consistent hypothesis that is transmitter nigrotectal projection.
